Someone who comes to your house so you can see your baby from your living room. That is what At Home Sono does.

How does an at home ultrasound work?

Pretty much the way you are hoping it works. We come to you. You get comfortable at home and the ultrasound is performed while you relax in your own space. Instead of everyone gathering around a small screen in an exam room, your baby can be displayed on your television for the room to see. Your partner can sit beside you. Your kids can watch from the floor. Grandparents can take the good chairs. The dog will probably assume the gathering is somehow about the dog. No commute home afterward required.

Is an at home ultrasound medical?

At Home Sono is a non medical elective ultrasound service. That part is important. Our sessions are designed for bonding and keepsake experiences. They are not a substitute for prenatal care or diagnostic ultrasound. We do not use the session to diagnose medical conditions, determine fetal health, confirm viability, provide medical measurements, or replace imaging ordered by your healthcare provider. Keep your prenatal appointments. Keep your medical ultrasounds. Then invite us over for the fun part.

Is this the same as using a home ultrasound machine yourself?

No. Searches for home ultrasound machine, handheld ultrasound, mobile ultrasound, and portable ultrasound device often bring up equipment intended for healthcare professionals. That is different from booking a mobile ultrasound service. With At Home Sono, you are booking an experience provided in your home. You are not purchasing equipment or trying to interpret ultrasound imagery yourself. You get to stay on the correct side of the screen. The side with the couch.

Why would someone want an ultrasound at home?

Mostly because home changes the experience. There is no unfamiliar room. No rushing across town. No wondering whether additional family members can come inside. No trying to squeeze everyone around a small monitor. Instead, the people who matter to you can experience the moment together. For first time parents, that may mean quietly watching with a partner.

For another family, it might mean a living room full of grandparents. If this is baby number two or three, big siblings can be part of it too. They have been hearing about “the baby” for weeks. Now you can put the baby on television. That is considerably better marketing.

Can you book an at home ultrasound during the first trimester?

Yes. At Home Sono focuses on early pregnancy, including the first trimester and early second trimester. Early sessions give families a chance to see their baby during a period when pregnancy may still feel surprisingly invisible from the outside. As the weeks progress, the ultrasound image changes too. Some parents want the earliest glimpse they can get. Others wait a little longer because they would like their baby to be more recognizable on screen. Neither approach is wrong.

Do you offer 3D or 4D ultrasound?

No. At Home Sono does not offer 3D or 4D ultrasound. Our experience centers on traditional ultrasound imagery during early pregnancy. There is something fitting about that for us. Our whole idea is pretty simple. Bring the ultrasound into the home. Make the family comfortable. Put the baby on the big screen. Let the moment happen.

What should I search if I want someone to come to my home?

You may see services described online as at home ultrasound, mobile ultrasound, home ultrasound, ultrasound at home, or mobile prenatal ultrasound. Those phrases can produce different kinds of businesses, so check carefully before booking. Look for a provider that clearly explains whether its services are medical or non medical, what stages of pregnancy it serves, what type of ultrasound it offers, and exactly what happens during the appointment. You should know what you are booking before someone rings the doorbell.

A different kind of ultrasound appointment

There will be plenty of reasons to leave the house during pregnancy. This does not have to be one of them. At Home Sono brings an early view of your baby into the place where your family already feels most comfortable. No exam room required. Just your people, your living room, and someone very small making an unexpectedly large television appearance. Book an At Home Sono session and meet your baby from your favorite seat in the house.
